Go After Your Dreams NOW

Last week we had the privilege of witnessing ten teenagers, including our own son, celebrate an incredible achievement. They biked coast to coast across America for 6 weeks - that’s over 3,250 miles, eleven states, and 130,000 feet in elevation! 

They were so thrilled to dip their wheels in the Pacific Ocean at Santa Monica Pier sealing their feat! I teared up with excitement, relief and joy for them. They set a massive goal and achieved it. It was truly inspiring. They were so proud and joyful. 


It reminds me how when we were younger we had so many goals and dreams, but as we age the drive to go after our dreams full heartedly and with joy often wanes.

Although my son trained physically for the ride, nothing prepared him and his friends for the extreme heat and headwinds they faced along the way. He said half the challenge was MENTAL. Staying focused on the goal and believing they could do it no matter what was key.

It highlights how important a support group and healthy mental attitude are to success. 

I’ve found that to be true in all things that require us to play outside our comfort zone - managing our minds to overcome our doubts and fears, and taking action despite the discomfort. It takes practice and a solid group of colleagues with the same goals for extra support.
