Scaling the Mountains of Your Life with Success

I’m a big hiker. As a city dweller I crave being in nature. I love the fresh air, the green trees, the sounds of the birds, and the burble of water as it travels over rocks and branches. But I especially like hiking big mountains for the long-distance beautiful views. It brings me such joy. I also crave the satisfaction of conquering a physical challenge.

This takes a certain level of physical fitness, especially if I want to ENJOY the experience and be able to converse with my kids along the way. Otherwise I huff and puff and feel miserable. Not to mention my kids leave me in the dust. If I’m out of shape, there are many hikes I can’t do which is limiting.

The same goes for the “mountains” of life. I want to have the capacity to respond to life’s great challenges with a positive mindset rather than a negative one. I don’t want to huff and puff and be miserable along the way. I want to have the mental fitness to handle whatever I choose to take on with confidence and courage.

This requires ongoing practice. I can’t just read a book, take a course and boom I’m mentally fit forever! I have to continue to cultivate it, just like my physical strength.

On our journey called life, we’ve faced a lot of unforeseen mountains over the last 1.5 years with the pandemic. Some of us got sick, lost loved ones, lost jobs, dealt with remote work and schooling, etc. There was a lot of uncertainty, fear, stress, and overwhelm.

We all dealt with it the best way we knew how and we want to celebrate those efforts.

But how do you take it to the next level?

It’s important to not just fortify your body but also your MIND - on a regular basis.

You want to be able to enjoy your journey called life, despite the boulders, avalanches and storms you might encounter on the mountains you choose to scale or that the universe mysteriously presents to you.

And one of the best tools I’ve found to help me and others on that journey is the science and practice of Positive Intelligence

It's your ability to respond to life's challenges with a more positive, resourceful (Sage) approach rather than a negative (Saboteur) one. It measures the percentage of the time your brain is serving you versus sabotaging you. It means you spend more time feeling love, empathy, curiosity, and taking action that is meaningful to you. And experiencing less stress, fear, judgement, overwhelm, resentment and anger.

It is a way of life that is fulfilling and meaningful. It’s a life "operating system” that is applicable to all aspects of your life, professional or personal - no matter your nationality or religion. It’s not a positivity mantra course where you try to believe things that don’t resonate in your heart. It’s simply having and maintaining a state of well-being and cultivating awareness of how we think, feel and behave.

If you seek peace of mind, healthy relationships and peak performance, mental fitness through the lens of Positive Intelligence is a great way to unlock your full potential. Learn more about my upcoming  7-week Mental Fitness Program.
