Practice being grateful (2 of 30)

What are you grateful for today?

I recently completed a 30-day end of year grateful challenge, which was just the right amount of time to get me into a regular attitude of gratitude.

As the month progressed, I could see a change in my awareness as I scanned my day for things to be grateful for. There was definitely a shift from seeing the glass half empty to half full!

By the end, even though plenty of things were going “wrong”…like my teen was sick for seven days while we were on vacation (seriously not fun for him). I still felt upbeat and grateful for so many things along the way, like riding my bike on the beach during the sunsets and ringing in the new year with my extended family. My newly found gratitude practice definitely played a big part in this.

I can see how the daily practice can open a door to a happier and more fulfilling life. (Secret - I occasionally even felt a little giddy about this mini “superpower.” It was eye-opening.)

My gratitude challenge won’t end today. It was so transformative, I can’t help but continue it daily for the rest of year and see where it takes me. Anyone want to join me?

✨See you tomorrow for Day 3 of 30 lessons learned from 2019!
