How To Practice Unconditional Self-Love

Do you love all parts of you unconditionally?

Do you give yourself unconditional love when life gets challenging?

Unconditional self-love is loving yourself with no strings attached.

You love the good and the so-called bad, ugly, broken that you see in yourself.

You believe you are worthy of your love no matter what you’ve done or anyone has said about you.

Are you spending HOURS perfecting your PowerPoint presentation or cover letter? Could you be using your valuable time in a more productive way? Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. How To Stop People Pleasing And Say No With Ease

Want to save a lot of time? Stop people-pleasing. Learn how to say no and be authentically you. I find people-pleasing to be one of the biggest time-sucks for many women, especially moms who are “doers.” The ones everyone can count on to get things done. They don’t want to let people down so people get comfortable relying on them because they always pull through. It’s a vicious circle. Not sure if you’re a people-pleaser? Here are ten signs:

Saving Time Starts With Transforming Your Thinking

Do you feel disorganized and distracted while working from home?

You’re not alone. It’s the number one complaint I hear from moms these days. We mamas prioritize everyone else but ourselves. We run ourselves thin, leaving ourselves unsatisfied and unfulfilled.

The first step in reclaiming your time is taking an honest look at your foundational thinking (your primary thoughts) around work and work-life balance.

The Embarrassing Reveal of Tracking 48 Hours of My Time

Last week I tracked how I spent my time for 48 hours in intervals of 10 minutes in preparation for a time management workshop I ran this morning for a group of employees at a global social enterprise start-up. I had asked them to do the same exercise, so I figured I should do it myself! I try to do this exercise every few months to gain insight into my schedule and habits. Normally, I recommend tracking your schedule for seven days (especially if it is your first time), but I knew no one would do it so I went for two days! 😉 Personally, I wanted to see if I was spending my time in alignment with my top five time priorities - areas of my life I’ve identified as most important to allocate my most valuable resource to, my time.

Three Ingredients To Creating Healthy Boundaries

Many people think boundaries are for controlling other people’s behavior when in fact they are created as a guide for ourselves to help us delineate where our emotional and physical boundaries begin and end. Are You Indulging in Overwhelm? Three Steps to Getting Out.

I swam in overwhelm when I was relaunching my career and it still crops up in my life every once in a while. But now I know the source of it and have learned how to manage it better. Thanks to life coaching I’ve come to realize that overwhelm is an indulgent emotion that doesn’t serve us in our lives. We think it comes from our long to do lists but it doesn’t. It comes from our thoughts about them. Our to do list is neutral until we give it meaning with our thoughts. Some of us will choose to think (consciously or unconsciously) “I got this...bring it on!” and others will think “This is too much...I can’t possibly do this all.” That is the difference between whether once experiences overwhelm or not. Your thoughts and how you manage them!

Constraint: Focusing On What Is Important (Day 27 of 30)

Constraint: a limitation or restriction we put on ourselves to simplify our lives and focus on what is most important!

It sounds easy but it can be seriously challenging to reign in our interests. FOMO anyone?!?

Many of us cringe at hearing the word constraint because we have a phobia of missing out. We have so many things we want to do (or feel like we must do). But following that calling can send many of us into overwhelm pretty quickly - a complaint I hear often from my clients.

Turtle Steps Add Up (Day 23 of 30)

Ever feel stuck on a project and unable to move forward? A feeling of overwhelm kicks in and you don’t know how to get unstuck?

It turns out what I needed to do was break down my actions into smaller more digestible steps than originally envisioned. I was trying to take on too much at once, and freezing as a result.

Once I chunked the projects into smaller steps, put them on the calendar and stopped looking at the overall grand goal, I was able to start take action. These “turtle steps” added up and created momentum that eventually led to the completion of my goals.

Discipline Is Freedom (Day 21 of 30)

We often think of discipline as being the antithesis of freedom, but in reality they are intimately connected.

If you really want something, you must move through discipline to get there.

Let’s take time as an example - the most valuable commodity of all. Many of us complain about not having enough time and say we are too busy to engage in self-care or look for our dream job. But what if I told you there is always enough time. Time never changes. It is simply what you make time mean and how you use it.
